XXXVI — Solar Plexus – Colour, Fire, and Confidence

← Karl Swainston / Resonance

The Solar Plexus Chakra is bathed in the primary colour of yellow. It radiates out its magnificence to the world. Yellow is a bold and beautiful colour. It is majestic in its show, and it is a colour of supreme confidence. Plants and flowers all over the world exude yellow as a show of identity, and in so doing, the colour draws to the plant and to the flowers necessary insects and animals to carry out further afield their pollen and genes of character within that pollen.

The colour yellow is expansive and shines, and your Solar Plexus shines too when infused with the energy of yellow and of light. When you have harnessed the yellow colour in your character, you, too, will glow with inner and outward self-confidence, and it will be attractive to all those who come into contact with you. Your personality will possess charisma and with the charisma will be a charm, a confident charm. You will feel like the yellow of the sun radiating outwards.

Fire is the element connected with Solar Plexus Chakra, and just like the all giving power and energy of the sun, you too will allow your character to flow outwards and give to others necessary guidance and support they need.

When you have truly harnessed the power of fire, the colour yellow, and the deep energy of the Solar Plexus Chakra, you will feel a great sense of self-esteem. This will not be pumped up by silly pride but will be in all sense filled with the most profound sense of pure confidence that you achieved something worthy through your actions and focused attention on your goals. And when mishaps or misfortunes come to call either in relationships, work, or play, you meet all these imposters with the same unaltered and high state of confidence, and this resolve will allow you to determine the right path to be chosen for success. This inner confidence and power will allow you to take on these tasks with equilibrium, fairness, and non-judgemental attributes. Others will respect this and they will respect you even more because of your demonstration of these powers.

One of the best places to harness the energy source of the Solar Plexus Chakra is in the bath with the lights turned off, and only candles with their yellow, warm glow to lighten the room. The waters of the bath will make you feel light and above all the drudgeries of the world, and after practising this art, you will allow your mind, body, and soul to change and maintain the confident state wherever you are, and whatever time of the day it is.

About Karl Swainston

Karl Swainston is a writer and storyteller whose work is forged from a life lived across the North of England and far beyond. Growing up on a Leeds council estate in the 1960s, Karl's journey was anything but linear. By the age of thirty, he had already lived a dozen lives: from the rigors of grammar school to a degree in Latin, a stint as a fishmonger, a period of discovery living in Marseille, and a return to the hustle of London. Whether working as a postman, a builder, or competing as a county-level chess player, he was, above all, an avid reader—constantly documenting the world around him. This restless spirit continued into his professional life. Karl later taught in Bradford, where he ran a specialist unit for 244 of the most excluded students from across the region—young people whom even the local Pupil Referral Units could not accommodate. Working alongside his old friend Malcolm, Karl spent his days navigating the volatility of Bradford's most aggressive and dysfunctional teenagers. Throughout his life, Karl has been an avid runner and has always shared his home with a rotating cast of beloved dogs and cats—companions who have been constant witnesses to his work. As a writer, Karl's range is as expansive as his history. He works across a wide breadth of genres, including fiction and short stories, autobiography and memoir, biography, non-fiction, and metaphysical writing, as well as providing sharp commentary, opinion, analysis, and essays. Whether writing about his years managing the Harrogate Arms or offering insights from his current adopted home in South East India, where he lives in a simple village with his dog, Bambi, Karl's voice reflects the full, untidy, and deeply human breadth of life. He continues to draw on the rich, decades-long tapestry of his experiences to tell stories that matter, proving that no matter where you live, the human story remains the same.
